fatma merve çay ve berfe nur durmaz

It creates a visible and accessible shelter for street cats between the edge of the urban flow and the steps of an amphitheater.

Positioned on the upper level of the amphitheater, it proposes a position that integrates with the natural topography of the space, providing visibility without disrupting user flow. It attempts to integrate people's daily routines into the public space as a suggestion for animal life.

The modules establish a relationality that considers both human and animal scales. While its placement at eye level generates awareness at the human scale, it offers depth, openness, and shelter surfaces that create a sense of security at the animal scale. Thus, the structure becomes an interface that intersects the spatial practices of the two species.

By placing creatures sometimes ignored in the city directly in the line of sight, it makes human-animal interaction a natural and everyday part of routines.

A minimalist shell transforms into an unpretentious urban identity while meeting the needs of the animals that will live here for shelter, climbing, stretching, and much more.

These climatic strategies reveal that the modules are designed not merely as shelters, but as micro-spatial living units that respond to the biological and behavioral needs of their users.

Designed to avoid a flat mass, the sloping roof structure dissipates rain load in a controlled manner; thus, both improving interior comfort conditions and supporting long-term structural durability.

The elevated form of the modules creates a protective buffer zone against adverse weather conditions and minimizes the risk of contact with moisture, rain, and cold that may result from surface runoff.
